Bhavesh Shah - Founder and President
Bhavesh Shah is an entrepreneur with over 20
years in the field of technology. He is the founder and architect of Quovadix.
Bhavesh founded Xellent Solutions in 2001 which has been in technology
consulting business. During these years he has been the chief architect
responsible for design of many complex enterprise products suites which often
were flagship products of his clients.
Prior to Xellent Solutions, Bhavesh was an architect at Tradec in San Jose,
where his innovations in product design of an XML enabled trade exchange
received the best product award in its category from electronic commerce world
2001.
Driven by the passion for innovation, Bhavesh founded Digipronix, a garage
startup, immediately after completion of his B.S. in Electronics Engineering
from University of Bombay. Their first product “Vigillant”, which enabled
hardware based anti-virus security and access control was ready to market while
he was still pursuing his MBA in 1990. He was responsible for taking Vigillant
to the European market, where it was rated at par with Norton anti-virus by
Computer World (Germany).

Juha Harkonen - Partnership Strategy
Mr. Harkonen assists companies in the Americas on
re-organization initiatives and start-ups. His typical client is in the
technology field of business continuity, telecom/mobile, and/or enterprise
solutions.
Mr. Harkonen is an expert on business processes and
re-engineering for operational excellence. He has lived most of his life in
different regions of the globe and has a heightened appreciation and ability for
building cultural bridges in a fast paced multinational environment.
In 2006, he joined Tellus International, Inc. as COO. Before joining Tellus, Mr.
Harkonen was Chief Executive Officer of Stonesoft Inc., the American subsidiary
of Stonesoft Corp., a global business continuity solutions vendor. During the
past three years with Stonesoft, he has accumulated numerous contacts within the
federal, financial services, and telecom sectors. He has extensive experience in
selling to the US federal government and collaborating with IBM, HP and
Microsoft in the Americas region.
Mr. Harkonen received his Masters in Science - Industrial Engineering Management
from the University of Lappeenranta and a second Masters in Science - Quality
Management from Cranfield University in the UK.

Nikhil Varaiya - Financial Vertical Strategy
Nikhil Varaiya is Professor and Chairman of the
Finance Department at San Diego State University. He teaches courses in
competitive analysis, and strategic financial management, in the MBA for
Executives Program and a course in financing emerging enterprises in the MBA
Program at SDSU.
He is the Recipient of the 2005-06 Alumni Association Award for Outstanding
Faculty Contributions to the University, Recipient of the Outstanding Faculty
Award in the MBA for Executives Program in 1994, 96, 99, 2001, 02, 03, and 2005
and recipient of Outstanding Paper Awards from the Financial Management
Association, and Journal of Retailing.
Dr. Varaiya received his B.S. in Mathematics and M.A. in Economics from Bombay
University. His M.B.A. and Ph.D. work in Finance was completed at the University
of Washington, Seattle.
His research papers have appeared in numerous journals and magazines of repute
including the Financial Analyst Journal, Journal of Finance, Strategic
Management Journal, The Technology Management Handbook, Financial Executive etc.
He consults in the areas of financial analysis of new products; evaluation of
firm financial performance; review and development of business plans, as well as
advice to firms for management of growth and profitability.
Dr. Varaiya is past President of the San Diego Chapter of Financial Executives
International and was a member of its Board of Directors 1991 - 2006 where he
served as Vice President of Professional Development. He was Chairman, Board of
Directors of USE Credit Union from 1996 – 1999, and a member of its board from
1993 – 2000.
He is also the President of TIE - San Diego (www.tiesandiego.org), an
international organization devoted to the enhancement of entrepreneurs.

Paul Laskin - Life Science Vertical Strategy
Paul Laskin is a Board Member of LSIT, a
non-profit organization whose goal is to develop a common set of Good
Informatics Practices for the Life Science IT community.
Prior to LSIT, Mr Laskin was the Director for Informatics Strategy and Portfolio
Management at Pfizer's Global Research and Development site in San Diego. He was
responsible for assuring alignment of the IT Project Portfolio with Pfizer's
overall goals and strategy.
With over 20 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Mr. Laskin brings
a unique perspective to the critical role that technology plays in the discovery
and development of new drug compounds. His passion for building small teams
capable of designing and implementing IT solutions that focus on the importance
of the customer, the business and technology has led to numerous successful
implementations.
Mr. Laskin holds a B.S. of Microbiology from California State University Long
Beach and a Certificate in Brewing Sciences from UC Davis.
